Dr Maphoto is a certified Clinical Virologist with extensive experience in clinical / pathology practice, training, learning, research & development and management. A fellow of College of Pathologists of South Africa – Virology (FC Path (SA) Viro). Holds Master in Medicine (Virological Pathology) and various diplomas including Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics and Diploma in HIV Management.

She has participated in various Ministerial Advisory Committees for Polio Eradication Initiatives and a part-time lecturer with Sefako-Makgatho Health Sciences University. Served on various academic, labour and advisory committees. Dr Maphoto has experience in health education, infection prevention and control, vaccinology and molecular laboratory testing.

Dr Maphoto is also a founder Dr R Maphoto Inc, Infectious Diseases Consultancy Centre with primary goal of offering precision evidence-based treatment advise services to individual patients and wellness programmes merging clinical and laboratory medicine.
